Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no trial, no credit card. Exports up to A4 at 300 dpi are free. If we add pro features later, the free version stays free.
Do you store my images or brand files?
No. Your artwork is read in your browser to find the colours, and it never leaves your device. Designs autosave in your own browser; if you want to keep one, download the design file.
Is the export good enough for print?
Yes. Choose A4 or A3 at 300 dpi and labels and lines scale with the resolution, so the print matches the preview. Exports are RGB: convert to CMYK in Photoshop or InDesign if your printer needs it.
Can I use the maps commercially?
Yes: IMs, brochures, signboards, websites and ads are all fine. The map data is from OpenStreetMap and the tiles from MapTiler, and their licences require attribution, so keep the “© MapTiler © OpenStreetMap contributors” credit on your map. Free exports also carry a small “Made with CPM Maprehension” mark.
Which browsers work?
A recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a desktop or laptop. It runs on phones too, but the studio is built for a big screen and a mouse.
Why does a big export take a while?
Your computer renders the whole map at print resolution, in your browser. A4 at 300 dpi usually takes a few seconds to a minute, depending on your machine and connection. You’ll see the progress as it goes.
Can I save my work?
It autosaves in your browser. Use Download design to save a .json file you can open later, on any computer, with Open design.
